Spike Tooth

Conversion of a detached accessory structure to into an Additional Dwelling Unit to provide the client with a flexible space that can accommodate living quarters or a private studio/office adjacent to the primary residence, while providing detachment necessary for solitude. The weathered cedar clad studio is set in the rear yard of the property, accessed by a winding path which hooks and meanders through a wild meadow. 

Upon entry, a passageway opens onto the open work area where a series of roof spikes extend the volume of the space beyond the existing ceiling height while providing diffuse northern light.
