GPCO was engaged by Crenshaw Yoga and Dance, a vibrant community hub and legacy business with over two decades of service to the Crenshaw area, to support the expansion of its facilities at the rear of the site. As part of this effort, the Owner also sought a refreshed façade. GPCO collaborated with JEDI Zone program administrators to secure Permit Fee Reduction Certificates and develop preliminary façade concepts to help the project qualify for the JEDI Façade Improvement Program.
To unify the building’s three distinct bays while remaining cost-conscious, we retained all existing structural openings and applied new finishes only. The irregularity of the existing openings was bridged with a series of concentric arcs, referencing the Center’s logo, to establish visual continuity across the façade. Together, the updated façade and new addition will enhance the facility’s capacity for diverse programming and strengthen its role as a cornerstone of the local community.
